This writer is trying to make some bucks off someone elses sucess. Read the series again and you know more then this guy knows. Just glad I didn't buy it myself. I read somebody elses copy that they never finished.

(More customer reviews)Great book! Last night I was not able to go to sleep until I have finished it. "La chambre des secrets" was opened again and anything can happen now. I came with Harry back to Hogwarts and was affraid with him about his school-mates and friends, the most annoying thought was that the scholl can be closed and Harry will have to spent the rest of his life with Dursleys ... I was really close to belive that Hagrid is ... uuuuf what a night. I really like old Dumbledore's phoenix. And as a girl maybe I can join Harry Potter's fan club togehter with Myrtle and little Ginny. Which of us will have Harry's attention most ?
I really recommend you not to read this book just before sleep, better close it before the end and start at the morning again. Or aren't you affraid of any monsters dreaming of, are you?

Mom and Dad enjoy this book as much as our 9-year-old daughter. We have most of the sticker books and they are all fantastic.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter Film Tie in) Review

(More customer reviews)A friend who lives in London just sent me this book, and it's fabulous! The picture on the front cover is actually a hologram that shows Harry surrounded by Voldemort and a Death Eater at one angle, and the other view is Harry with Hermione & Ron at his sides.
The inside of the book is filled with gorgeous color pictures, mostly from Order of the Phoenix since that's the book in which Dumbledore's Army was born, but there is also a section that goes back all the way to the first book and gives sort of a pictoral "history" of Harry's battle against Voldemort, plus sections on Order members and Death Eaters. There is just enough writing to "remind" you of what's happening in a scene, but not enough to obscure the illustrations.
For the autograph collector, this book would be a wonderful tool for collecting them as it has photos of all the major cast members with enough extra space for signatures so that a person wouldn't be writing across his or her own face. I just wish I lived in the UK so I'd have an opportunity to use it that way!
If you're a true fan of the Potter film series, this is a collector piece not to be missed.

This book does a very good job of digging deeply into the Potter series and making connections with literature the average reader has probably not encountered. This aspect makes the book fascinating reading, and will surely to add to your Harry Potter enjoyment.

(More customer reviews)While the price of this book is steep, this is easily the best version of this book in print. The gilded pages and high-quality leather look, smell and feel wonderful. This is not the questionable quality leather used on previous versions, this is the real deal. More importantly, this version has, as J.R.R. recorded in letters, reproductions of the Book of Marzubul. These are the pages from the Dwarven book found in the Mines of Moria by Gandalf and the Fellowship. In the begining and ending of the book are also included maps that fold out to render Middle-earth for the reader, again as the author originally wanted.
This is the book that Tolkien dreamed of having published but couldn't due to the realities of post-WWII publishing costs and questions about a 400,000 word publication.
For me, there is an emtoional response to this book for two reasons. One, it is as fine or better than the book the author originally wished to have published and two, it is a beautiful piece of art all on its own, suitable for display. If you love books or love Tolkien or both, this is a must have and the centerpiece of any worthy collection.
(Some are commenting that the book isn't actually leather. Be sure to check your version as there are others available, but the information provided to me stated my copy was leather and if it is fake, it fooled me.)

(More customer reviews)Being a Pottermaniac, I have acquired several Harry Potter items that you wouldn't think a grown man would own. This particular item is actually a little surprising to me. When I was a kid, we had coloring books and that was it. Kids today have options I am only now discovering. This is an "art coloring book," one of four related yet quite different books published in conjunction with the release of the film version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. What you get is thirty-two pages of black and white illustrations (the only color images are on the front and back cover) featuring scenes from the film - but there's more. The book also comes with several sheets of tracing paper, hence the Trace a Scene portion of the title. Rather than touching any of the illustrations in the book, you can lay your tracing paper on top of the image of your choice, trace the lines which appear quite distinctly through the page, and voila - instant art that you can color in all sorts of ways. Why didn't they have this when I was a kid? If you mess up your budding work of art (as I used to do all the time), all you have to do is get another piece of paper and trace the image again. This is a particularly good idea in the case of Harry Potter because this is in many ways a collector's item (albeit a very modestly priced one which will never really be worth anything).

I would have liked to see the character's birthdays (e.g. January 8th, Severus Snape; March 1st, Ron Weasley) included. Also space for some notes would have been good.

(More customer reviews)This fourth and final of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Art Coloring Books is my favorite (and it's not just because it is the only one that features Hermione on the cover - although that certainly helps). First, you have a good number of black and white illustrations featuring people and events from the film, but then you have something else - lavish color photos of most of the same scenes. The functional point of this is to let budding artists compare their own colored drawings to the actual color photos they were taken from, but I - and this will come as no real surprise - just like to look at the pictures. You can never have too many Harry Potter items, I always say, and all of these Chamber of Secrets art coloring books make for very affordable additions to my (and your) Harry Potter collection. I might just note, for all my fellow Hermione admirers out there, that our favorite character is featured prominently in two of the color photographs.

The Book of Wizardry: The Apprentice's Guide to the Secrets of the Wizards' Guild Review

(More customer reviews)This is a cute book that has obviously been designed for a young novice in the magical arts, sort of a Harry Potteresque instruction book. It's hard to tell whether this is a serious book on the subject at first, but it does have real magic and techniques for increasing concentration and such, and half of the book is taken up by a "Choose Your Own Adventure" type of novella.
The only annoying thing about it this book is that it mixes fantasy and real magical techniques, but I suppose that might be fun for a younger reader. It's a bit like telling children about Santa Claus, though.
In short, this is a good book for a young adult who is interested in magic and fantasy (and most likely a Harry Potter fan) but doesn't know where to begin, and/or if you want to teach a young adult magical technique but want to do it in a fun way.

Horrible Harry Moves up to the Third Grade Review

(More customer reviews)Surprisingly, my second grade daughter enjoys this book and all of the Horrible Harry adventures. We have read about 10 books already in the Horrible Harry series. It is great reading for children trying to reach monthly reading goals for school and for reading aloud. After reading several books, the characters become your friends, and makes reading much more interesting and fun. I would recommend Suzy Kline's books, especially the Horrible Harry's, to all elementary students. Great reading fun!
